The Youth Job Creation Small and Medium Enterprises, jointly hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, is a system that discovers and supports small and medium enterprises with youth-friendly work environments and excellent job creation capabilities. This year, 280 places were selected nationwide, and 109 companies were named in the Seoul area. The selection criteria are profit-making capabilities, job quantity, wage level, employment stability, work-life balance, education and training, and innovation capabilities. In particular, youth employment growth rate and retention rate, average wage, and sales growth rate were evaluated as important. The youth employment growth rate and youth employment retention rate of the companies selected this time were 12.5% and 66.5%, respectively, far exceeding those of general small and medium enterprises (0.4% and 55.5%, respectively).
